About the exhibition:
"Birds in Art" presents paintings, graphics and sculptures created within the past three years by more than 100 artists who bring a global perspective to their passion for birds. The opening weekend festivities at the Woodson Art Museum features opportunities to meet artists who flock to the Museum from throughout the world for the opening of this internationally renowned exhibition. About the exhibition:
This year, 200 artworks were chosen for AFC’s 15th annual exhibit, celebrating artistic excellence in the depiction of nature, raising awareness of conservation issues and supporting organizations dedicated to them. Around 80 artworks have been selected for inclusion in the live exhibit opening this fall. The live exhibit will premier at the Artists for Conservation Festival at VanDusen Botanical Gardens in Vancouver, Canada from September 23-26. Following the opening, most artwork will then tour internationally.

In its annual exhibition the The Society of Animal Artists (SAA) brings together the art of the best animal painters from around the world. The Society of Animal Artists' 62nd exhibition will be held at Turtle Bay Exploration Park in California, USA, beginning September 24. Using a wide range of techniques and artistic expression, SAA artists will showcase a variety of themes from the animal kingdom.
