2nd time in world renowned show

The Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum presents the exhibition "Birds in Art" from 8th September to 26th November 2017.

The 42st annual show of the internationally renowned exhibition celebrates avian marvels through fresh interpretations in original paintings, sculptures, and graphics created within the last three years. Every year talented artists from throughout the world strive to be among those chosen to take part and to join at the opening weekend festivities at the Woodson Art Museum in September, held in Wausau, Wisconsin (U.S.A.).

"Rustic Residence" was selected for the 'Birds in Art' 2017 exhibition, held by The Leigh Yawkey Woodson Museum in Wausau, Wisconsin.

The painting is done in a mixed media technique, since inks were used to paint on clayboard. Afterwards the details were engraved with sharp tools, like a scalpel, to highlight certain details and structures. The work will be displayed alongside of 110 other juried artists and past Master Artists in the The Leigh Yawkey Woodson Museum, from 8th September to 26th November 2017.

This was my second time in the show and like the last year I've joined the opening weekend with many artist friends in Wausau, Wisconsin. The few days of celebration were absolutely wonderful and overwhelming at the same time, with many remaining moments of joy and fun together in the Woodson Art Gallery and special events all around. I hope to come back, soon.
