Avian Art on International Display

The Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum presents the exhibition "Birds in Art" from 10th September to 27th November 2016.

The 41st annual show of the internationally renowned exhibition celebrates avian marvels through fresh interpretations in original paintings, sculptures, and graphics created within the last three years. Every year talented artists from throughout the world strive to be among those chosen to take part and to join at the opening weekend festivities at the Woodson Art Museum in September, held in Wausau, Wisconsin (U.S.A.).

"Elevated Architecture" accepted into Birds in Art

Elevated Architecture

"Elevated Architecture" was selected for the 'Birds in Art' 2016 exhibition, held by The Leigh Yawkey Woodson Museum in Wausau, Wisconsin.

The painting is done in a mixed media technique, since inks were used to paint on clayboard. Afterwards the details were engraved with sharp tools, like a scalpel, to highlight certain details and structures. The work will be displayed alongside of 110 other juried artists and past Master Artists in the The Leigh Yawkey Woodson Museum, from 10th September to 27th November 2016.

Another special surprise and great honor was to find my painting "Elevated Architecture" chosen as cover image for the show brochure. This is a great honor and another highlight for my “Birds in Art” debut! The show catalogue shows a work form 2016 Master Artist Karen Bondarchuk.
