The Purple Heron is a rare breeding bird where I live and I am always overly exciting to observe them. This artwork was inspired by my first ever sighting of a Purple Heron. It was a special first encounter from a few years ago. The bird got harassed by crows. Fortunately, I managed to snap a few photos of the tumult high up in the polar tree. It was only a few seconds of action before the bird flew off. But the scenery got stuck in my head and I finally decided to turn it into a painting. I had to use a lot of artistic license to recreate the unique moment which sparks my emotion about this observation.
