The Crested Grebe is a bird I enjoy watching every day on the big lakes in our area. Both the female and male birds have an attractive plumage during breeding season with tufted ears and a bright red hood. They are a nice subject for my drawings and paintings and this small acrylic painting showing the bird in warm evening light was a piece I enjoyed a lot working on.
