The relationship between human and wolf is best described as a mixture of fascination and fear. If we look into the wild animal's eyes, our ancestral feelings seem to come alive. As an artist, I want to give the viewer the opportunity, to get the feeling to observe the animal up close.

The scratchboard technique is perfect for this endeavor, since it allows a very detailed work to create these black and white images. A scratchboard is made of a wooden panel covered with a basic clay layer and the surface is stained with black Indian ink. White lines were generated by scratching the surface and the remove of the ink coat.
