Probably it is the majestic attitude of the Sumatran Tiger, which inspires me to portray the animal in my Scratchboard works. I have done a few of these magnificent beauties in this technique. Of course, the fur markings with the unique tiger stripes give a splendid design to be captured in Scratchboard.
The scratchboard technique allows a very detailed work of black and white pictures, on a wooden panel, which is covered with clay and the surface stained with black ink. Fine white lines appear when the surface is scratched with a sharp knife to remove the ink coat.
