Depicted in this work is the red kite - Germany's heraldic animal. Germany has an above average responsibility for the protection of this species, because about the half amount of the world stock of red kites lives in Germany.
But the red kite breeding population faces a decrease in their numbers over the last decades due to the establishment of intensive agricultural pure plantations in Germany (par example Maize mono-cultures for bio gas plants).
My work shows the majestic and so called "red dragon" in full flight and the described "Nose-Dive" shows the condition of the population in dramatically light.
"Nose Dive" was displayed at the 7th annual exhibition of the International Society of Scratchboard Artists (ISSA) and received the NEWCOMER AWARD. The show was hosted by the Middletown Arts Center in Ohio, U.S.A.
