Daydreamer

I enjoy the daily encounters with the local wildlife in Costa Rica. I was surprised to find this Northern Tamandua sleeping high up in a tree. These small ant- and termite-eating mammals are mostly nocturnal and rarely seen during the day.

I was delighted to see it safe and sound in the canopy. Sadly, these animals are often victims of road traffic. New infrastructure, fragmentation and reduction of natural habitat are threats to many species in Central America.

'Daydreamer' was selected for Artists for Conservation Festival 2025, to be on display at the Van Dusen Botanical Garden (Canada). Read more in my News Section!
